Children's Ministry

Easter Cross

We use the rotational workshop model for Children's Sunday School classes in kindergarten through six grade. This model is based on the premise that we all learn differently and are gifted with a unique set of talents. Our curriculum incorporates games, drama, food, drama, art, science and cooking. Children go with their grade level to a different workshop each week.

Each Sunday morning starts with a brief worship gathering in our Temple, which has been decorated to encourage a sense of excitement and wonder. The workshop rooms include the Acts Theatre, featuring a puppet stage the children constructed with help from adults; Creations Art Academy; the Science and Nature room; and Bible University, where older children participate in our Bible Drill program during the first quarter of the year.  Many of our boys and girls win associational and state Bible Drill recognition each year.

Other children's events include Trunk-or-Treat, a churchwide Halloween celebration where we decorate our cars and trucks and host a fun, safe trick-or-treating environment the Saturday evening before Halloween. A spectacular Easter Egg hunt for childen age 3 through fourth grade is held each year on our front lawn the Saturday morning before Easter. Vacation Bible School is held each summer. Older children can also participate in a multi-day summer trip. T-ball and basketball teams are available for some age groups. Children's choir and missions programs meet every Wednesday night during the school year, and family-oriented events on Wednesday nights during the summer.

Bring your children and let them try some of our programs. Your family will receive a warm welcome.
