What do you love most about First Baptist Church Memphis?
When I first came to FBC I was immediately impressed with the church’s compassion for all people. FBC opens her doors to the community regardless of race or class. First Laotian would not be where we are today without FBC’s support and love over the years. They are committed to loving God by loving others.

The Fine Print
I was born in a small village in southern Laos, a landlocked country in Southeast Asia. I was the ninth of ten children. Due to political strife in my homeland, my parents fled the country and eventually arrived in the United States as refugees in 1986. We resettled in Nashville, TN where we were introduced to Christianity at a Baptist Lao mission church. My parents converted to Christianity from Buddhism and their changed lives and new hope influenced my own journey and I gave my life to Christ at the age of 13.
During my junior year at Middle Tennessee State University I felt God’s call to ministry and upon graduation moved to Fort Smith, AR to do youth ministry. After two years I moved to Memphis where I currently attend Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and serve as pastor of First Laotian Baptist Church.
I recently married a beautiful woman name Angie and we are enjoying God’s gift of marriage together. She is a teacher at E.E. Jeter Elementary in Millington and serves alongside me in our ministry. We are excited about how God can use us to reach a lost and dying world right here in Memphis.
