As many of you have heard, the Pastor Search Committee had identified a candidate for the position of Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, Memphis. However, for many reasons, known and unknown, this candidate has withdrawn from consideration. Yes, we have experienced some disappointment and sadness but we hold tight to God’s promise in Romans 8:28 that “All things work together for good for them that love God.”
  We continue our search with much energy and anticipation that the right person will be revealed to us. Resumes have continued to be received and we are reviewing them all, calling references and requesting sermon materials. We want you to know that the committee is working well together and is committed to completing this task. We hope that it is in a timely manner, recognizing that God’s timing is not always the same as our timing. Your prayers and thoughtful comments have encouraged and strengthened us. Please continue to pray for the PSC and for the person who will be called and answer the call to serve as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church.
