Young Adult Ministry

Puzzle - Puzzle CWEP

Balancing family, friends, and the future can be a challenging task in today's busy world.  Being a young adult can be an exciting time due to new opportunities but it can also be a stressful time as you seek to weave your faith experience into life.  You need a group who shares similar beliefs and goals.

That's what Connect4 is all about!

Class (Bible Study)

Community (Mission/Ministry)

Commission (Sharing Faith Stories with Others)

Charity (Agape Love, The Christ-call to Each of Us)

Taught by Dr. Greer Richardson and Dr. Carol Richardson, Connect4 Bible study class is rich with theological insight, discussion, and practical lessons straight out of the Bible.  They both wish to not only teach the course but to also nurture the participants as they, in their own words, are only 'slightly older' than the rest of the class.

The class meets on Sunday morning at 9:30 am for a short time of fellowship and food.  At 9:45 am, they gather for prayer time and then Bible study.

If you are a young adult ranging from 20-40 years of age, please pay us a visit.

Here are ways that you can be the change!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Rachel Kid’s Tutoring (1-6th grade) begins in October, every Monday from 6-7:30 p.m.  We will meet in the FBC parking lot at 5:45 p.m.  Even if you can give only one Monday, your time will be a gift to the child.

  • WE NEED YOUNG COUPLES OR INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE AS GREETERS IN THE WELCOME CENTER FROM 9:15-9:45.  See Carol if you are willing to take one Sunday a month.
  • And don't forget to take a look at the First Reponses blog written and maintained by one of our class members.  Be sure to add a comment or two.

Prayer is Work. Prayer is the context in which we confront our fears, recognize resistance, let go of demands for immediate solutions to life’s dilemmas, and learn to wait.  The work of prayer consists of ceasing from chatter and learning to listen, relinquishing our supposed control of the situation and letting God be God.  This is hard work.
